Bicycle Fun Ride
Allegany State Park Quaker
Friday, July 19 Time: 6:30 PM -You will have to get yourself and your bike to Allegany State Park, Quaker side. -We will ride at a slow pace on the paved bike path out and back. -We will ride for around an hour and a half. -Helmets are required. -Any type of working bike will do. -Please try to arrive at least 15 minutes early to make sure your tires are pumped up to a proper PSI (I will be there to help with this). -This is a great ride if you are brand new or haven't ridden in a long time. |
Bike ride expectations:
- This event centers brand new riders, riders coming back after a long time away and other people who have felt uncomfortable riding with other biking groups for whatever reason.
- This event centers fat and plus size people although all are welcome.
- All genders of riders are welcome.
- We will be riding between 5 and 10 mph. If you regularly ride much faster or riding at that speed is uncomfortable to you, maybe this isn't the right ride for you.
- We will be stopping often.
- We will be riding between 3 and 5 miles total.
- This is a social ride, not a ride to train or have a workout.
- No discussion of intentional weight loss, dieting or wellness lifestyles before, on or after the ride. This includes moralizing food choices. General talk about how to fuel our bodies for riding may happen on the ride.
- No "bike shaming" . All types and ages of bikes are welcome as long as they are safe to ride. If you're not sure if your bike is safe, bring it to your local bike shop for a tune up before the ride.

All of the work I do to organize group hikes and other outdoor adventures is done purely on my own time without compensation. I believe that the outdoors should be as accessible as possible for as many people as possible and it is something I do because it is my passion.
If you enjoy what I do and what I offer and you would like to "buy me a coffee" I would be extremely grateful. I cannot live on passion, even though I wish I could. I appreciate each and every one of you and I'm so glad you're here. |
