Evening Fungus Frolic with a naturalist
Long Point State Park Saturday, October 12 Time: meet at 7:15 for the mushrooms (6:15 for sunset) You must sign up. The walk is free but we have limited spots available. Join us this Saturday night for a magical fungus frolic! 🍂🍄 We’ll be exploring the forest with naturalist guide, Kayla Giunta, in the dark in search of bioluminescent mushrooms and other fascinating fungi. Along the way, you'll learn exciting facts about these amazing organisms. This will be the perfect fall activity—open to all! Come enjoy nature’s wonders with us. There will be an additional opportunity for a sunset walk before we search for mushrooms 🌅.
Details will be emailed to you once you are signed up. Let’s make some unforgettable autumn memories together! About Kayla Giunta: “Kayla (she/any) is a Naturalist at Allegany State Park whose fascination for fungi started in Long Point State Park years ago. During this enchanting fungus frolic we’ll discover what a mushroom is, why some glow, and how we are more closely related to this organism than vegetables!” |
All of the work I do to organize group hikes and other outdoor adventures is done purely on my own time without compensation. I believe that the outdoors should be as accessible as possible for as many people as possible and it is something I do because it is my passion.
If you enjoy what I do and what I offer and you would like to "buy me a coffee" I would be extremely grateful. I cannot live on passion, even though I wish I could. I appreciate each and every one of you and I'm so glad you're here. |
